In this session, Emily Withrow, director of the Quartz Bot Studio, will demonstrate how bots and voice platforms carry incredible potential beyond content delivery--they can build meaningful, longterm relationships with an audience. By creating narrative stories, each chat is transformed into a one-on-one channel between users and the organization, capable of intimacy, immediacy, and relevance, and that channel persists over time.

Emily will take a candid look at the Quartz Bot Studio's lessons from designing those storytelling experiences for readers and brands, and she'll explore insights from user research and interviews, and dive into the implications of one of the most meaningful takeaways from our first couple of years—that in voice and chat, emotional intelligence carries just as much power as artificial intelligence.
